I suffer from sciatica and the hamstring and glute pain while paddling was quite unbearable, so I decided to give this little yellow cushion a try. It worked great and I was able to enjoy the rest of my summer on the water. I really like the rubber grippy backside that stays in place in the kayak, moreover it's thin and didn't raise up my center of gravity too much. Once the kayak went in the garage for the fall I decided to try the cushion in my car while driving - its great, same sciatica relief on my long commute to work. I use this when kayaking and it does give the little extra you need to for longer trips. It is lightweight and easy to just stash away in the cargo hold.A couple of weeks after I bought this I broke my tailbone. I actually carried this around and used it in my car, at church and other places until I could sit without it. It sure helped. I kayaked once with my broken tailbone and would not have lasted without the extra padding. I also like that it doesn't raise you up in the Yak, so you can keep your center of gravity. Good buy. |
